Breaking Ground for a New Community Art Center

Dear Community,

Today I break ground for a new online platform with a mission to initiate, build, and provide a strong, safe, and inclusive foundation for a community art center and gallery that specializes in art education for the public.  With the uncertainty of Covid-19 we are preparing for alternatives in education and social interaction that are transforming our current generation into a virtual reality.  A place in which we perhaps knew we were already heading.  If we are not able to bring the student to the education then the education should be brought to the student.  In a perfect world everyone would have access to online learning, however perfect is not where we are.  Art is not made widely available although it is essential.  It teaches vital skills including critical theory and problem solving, and promotes physical coordination between mind and body. There needs to be more programs made available to provide the resources and equipment needed for the community to learn the skills and theory about the arts along with all subjects of education.  Today I begin a quest to help link those who are not connected online with those who are.  My goal is to create an online art center that will host classes from all genres of art.  A place where people of all ages can join, and scholarships will provide classes and resources for those whose incomes may be challenged.  I believe art is a gift and should be available for everyone who wishes to receive that gift regardless of circumstances.  I know there is strength in a community that will help bring this to all.  I envision a place where the community  teaches the community, and education is not based upon financial wealth.  I thank all my supporters who have been with me from the beginning of this idea, and I gratefully appreciate those who are joining me along the way.  Together we will create a place where the arts belong to The People.

Sincerely,
Caz Azevedo

Online Classes are now available,
